Happy Sunday, world! I am excited to embark on this journey of writing out into the abyss, and I hope that whoever this reaches will decide to join me and or lean into sharing yourself, too! Although this is my first experience with starting and maintaining a blog, I am leaning into some individual research as well as my digital media course to make this work.
So, How Do We Start?
Identify your goal and what you want to share with the world
- Sharing things that you are interested in or passionate about will make the commitment to post easier
- Think about how you want your audience to feel or what you want them to take away by interacting with your blog
- Don’t be afraid! Sometimes the hardest part is starting, but once you start you can continue to refine your writing, goals, and style
Creating, sharing, & interacting
Once you know what you want to share with the world and decide to start your blog, you will have to create the content, engage with your community, and share it with your audience.
- Create posts that are easy to read and follow – remember, not everyone reading your blog may be familiar with what you are sharing. Keep your content succinct and easy to follow
- Drop the AI – keeping your content original will allow you to keep an authentic voice in your posts and deepen your connection with your audience
- Engage with your audience! Don’t be afraid to respond to comments, visit other profiles, and build an online community
- Utilize other content platforms that you may have – don’t be afraid to cross-promote your blog to other digital mediums that you may have and vice versa
